I felt like melon today and then I heard echoing across the village a man selling them. I walked down towards the Platia and asked Helen who was sitting outside her shop cleaning a large bowl of courgette flowers if she had seen the man with the fruit. Helen said if I wanted melon I should buy them from my neighbour as she had good ones and plenty of them. I walked back up the hill and knocked on her door. She was thrilled and took great pride in choosing the best for me. I opened my purse and asked her the price and she shook her head and said no they were a gift, so generous.
