When we bought our village house it was filled with somebody else’s life. It was really strange to open the door and feel we were entering a very personal space that was not ours. It felt like someone had just gone out shopping or to visit a friend and had never come back. I suppose that is what happened. The house had belonged to the village priest, Papa, and his wife. After Papa’s death his wife continued to live in it until she passed away. We were extremely privileged to be privy to their lives.

Our village has many abandoned houses. When I am lucky enough to peek inside I find it fascinating. Last summer our village friend George called me into the house of one of his relatives. This house is relatively close to ours and locked up behind big blue gates, completely out of sight. George knows we love the history of the village and its people and also knows I love houses. He invited us in. The house was fab and I asked George if he would mind me taking some photographs of my goddaughter Grace who was staying with us. He didn’t mind at all and here are the results, enjoy!

I LOVE the way Eadie looks. So simple, such beauty.

MY LITTLE FRIEND 1

Today I had a very special visit. ‘My Little Friend’ came to see me at my London flat and I was thrilled! ‘My Little Friend’ has a name, her name is Charlotte and she is still my friend although she is no longer little. Charlotte has grown into a beautiful young woman. I have known Charlotte since she was born and she was always enchanting. I loved the way when I visited her house she would take me by the hand to her room and show me her special things. She was always enormously creative making anything from beautiful art works to cup-cakes.  Sometimes in life you feel a special bond with someone and this is something I always felt with Charlotte. I now live in Greece and she lives in New Zealand so our paths rarely cross but never the less I still feel there is a bond between us. Thank you beautiful Charlotte for taking the time to visit me yesterday I hope you enjoy your gap year and your life is filled with all things beautiful.

My Greek teacher Elpida asked me if I would come to the school and talk to a group of her students. Elpidia was preparing her students, 5 girls ranging in age from 12 to 15 for their English exams. I was thrilled to be asked and took with me my new book, ‘My Greek Island Home’ and my first book, ‘Sensual Living’. The girls were bubbly and enthusiastic and also great company and I talked to them about my career in London and also about my books. It was a lovely way to spend the afternoon and I enjoyed their company enormously. In fact I enjoyed their company so much that I invited them to come to visit me at home. Only 4 of them could make it and we spent the afternoon together. I took some photos of them and these are what I am sharing with you today. Enjoy! Thank you girls you were great fun and great models.

One of my last days in Sydney was spent with my sister, Monica and her daughter Hannah at Neilson Park, a beautiful harbour beach in Sydney. These are some of the snaps I took of beautiful Hannah.

BRISBANE BEAUTY This beautiful girl was outside the Museum of Modern Art in Brisbane last week, I could not resist asking if I could snap her. I’d like to thank her for her wonderful smile.
